Admission applications at govt schools to be submitted from 15 Dec

Dhaka (Dec 12, 2020): The authorities of all government secondary schools across the country including capital Dhaka will begin accepting applications for admission through lottery from December 15.

The new students can submit their applications only on gsa.teletalk.com.bd from December 15 and it will continue until December 27. The students will be selected through online lottery on December 30, said a press release of Department of Secondary and Higher Education.

The government has taken the decision to avoid further spread of novel coronavirus among the students and their guardians.

The applicants will have to pay Tk110 as fee which can only be paid by SMS through Teletalk mobile number, according to the decision.

When applying, a student can list five schools of one group and the school will be selected through the lottery. Till now, a student can choose one school from a group.

Education minister Dipu Moni, on November 25, announced that the new students would be admitted to all classes through lottery in the schools under the education ministry this academic year due to the coronavirus outbreak.

In the capital Dhaka, a total of 40 percent of students would be admitted from the catchment areas that means the areas around the schools.
