Business community, bureaucrats will not tolerate insult to Bangabandhu

Dhaka (Dec 12, 2020): Business community on Saturday protested the vandalism of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s sculpture.

Apex trade body, the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) organised the event in front of its office at Motijheel in the capital.

FBCCI President Sheikh Fazle Fahim said the private sector will not tolerate any insult to the father of the nation.

He hoped the government will take stern actions against those who vandalised Bangabandhu’s sculpture.

Nihad Kabir, president of MCCI, Alamgir Shamsul Alamin, president of REHAB, Benjir Ahmed MP, president of BAIRA, SA Mannan Kochi, vice president of BGMEA, Ahsan Khan Chowdhury, chairman and CEO of Pran-RFL Group and Manwar Hossain, president of steel manufacturers’ association spoke among others at the programme.

Simultaneously, trade bodies at district levels across the country also protested the vandalism of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s sculpture. 

Also, bureaucrats in a separate programme at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre echoed the same message.
