Covid-19: Bangladesh sees 19 more deaths in last 24hrs

The coronavirus fatalities in Bangladesh rose to 7, 378 with 19 more deaths recorded at different parts of the country including capital Dhaka in the last 24 hours ending 8:00am on Thursday.
Besides, 1, 234 new cases pushed the caseload to 5, 06,102, Directorate General of Health Service (DGHS) unveiled the data in press release this afternoon.
A total of 13, 227 samples were tested at different government authorised laboratories across the country and 1, 234 samples were found positive for the virus in the same time, the DGHS said.
In the same period, 2, 345 people were declared free from infections of the virus, taking the total number of recovery to 4, 46,690, according to the press release.
The statics shows the infection rate of the virus 9.33 percent, recovery rate 88.26 percent and death rate 1.46 percent in the last 24 hours.
The first case of coronavirus was detected in Bangladesh on March 8 and the first death case was recorded on March 18.
Global situation
Since the outbreak of the virus in China, the deadly novel coronavirus has so far infected 7, 91, 56,148 people and taken 17, 39,816 lives from different countries across the world, according worldometers.
