Bangladesh reported 17 deaths and 990 fresh Covid-19 cases on Friday.
With this, the number of positive cases rose to 514,500 and the number of deaths reached 7,576, said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The fatality rate from Covid-19 in Bangladesh currently stands at 1.47 percent.
DGHS further said that 1,197 patients have recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours. The total number of recovered patients so far is 458,656 – which is 89.15 percent of the total infected.
According to the Worldometer data, 83,903,231 cases of coronavirus have been detected worldwide. The number of deaths reached 1,827,789 and 59,402,197 recovered from the virus.
The website further projects that there are currently 22,673,245 active cases of Covid-19 across the globe. 99.5 percent of the patients are in mild condition, while only half a percent is in critical condition.
The US is the country with most numbers of Covid-19 positive cases, followed by India, Brazil, Russia, France and the UK.
