Novelist Rabeya Khatun passes away

Eminent novelist Rabeya Khatun passed away at her Gulshan residence in Dhaka this afternoon. She was 86.
The eminent novelist breathed her last this afternoon due to old age complications, family sources said.
Khatun was born at a village in Bikrampur of Dhaka on December 27, 1935.
She was accorded Bangla Academy Literary Award in 1973, Ekushey Padak in 1993 and Independence Award in 2017.
On 23 July 1952, she got married Fazlul Haque. She was the editor of the Cinema magazine.
She left behind two sons --Faridur Reza Sagar, managing director of Impress Telefilm Channel I and Farhadur Reza Prabal, an architect and two daughters-- Keka Ferdousi, a cooking expert and Farhana Kakli -- and host of relatives to mourn her death.
