Bangladesh reports 1,837 new Covid-19 cases, 21 deaths

Bangladesh reported 1,837 new Covid-19 cases and 21 deaths from the virus on Sunday.

With this, the number of positive cases rose to 432,333 and the number of deaths reached 6,194, said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The fatality rate from Covid-19 in Bangladesh is currently 1.43 percent.

DGHS further said that 1,693 patients have recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours. The total number of recovered patients so far is 349,542 – 80.85 percent of the total infected.

According to the Worldometer data, 54,452,298 cases of coronavirus have been detected worldwide. The number of deaths reached 1,320,286 and 37,976,067 recovered from the virus.

The website further projects that there are currently 15,155,945 active cases of Covid-19 across the globe. Ninety-nine percent of the patients are in mild condition, while one percent is in critical condition.

The US is the country with most numbers of Covid-19 positive cases, followed by India, Brazil, France and Russia.
