RAB raids Sirajganj militant hideout, 4 arrested

The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Friday arrested four suspected militants, including two top regional leaders of banned group Jamatul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), from a house in Shahjadpur, Sirajganj.
Members of RAB cordoned off the house in the Ukilpara neighbourhood of the municipality early morning, acting based on information provided by militants arrested the day before.
On Thursday night, four militants, including JMB’s Rajshahi Shah Makhdum unit chief Mahbub, were arrested.
The raid in Sirajganj was conducted based on information provided by Mahbub.
Four suspected militants had surrendered until 11am, reports UNB. RAB Legal and Media Wing chief Lt Col Ashik Billah said Rajshahi region JMB chief Mahmud and Pabna-Sirajganj regional chief Kiran were among the arrestees.
The arrestees are currently being interrogated.
