Two recent photographs of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in more candid moments than people are used to seeing her, have gone viral on Facebook.
One of the pictures showed the PM fishing in the pond behind Gono Bhaban with a fishing rod, while the other captured her busy on a sewing machine, reports UNB.
Both were posted from the official Facebook page of Bangladesh Awami League, and are presumably quite recent, showing how the premier has been keeping busy with worthwhile pursuits at home during the lockdown period.
The post said –“Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is a Bengali woman. Despite her busy schedule-life, she finds time to sew clothes or sometimes goes fishing in the pond behind Ganabhaban. Our respect and love for the lady who works whole day for the country after losing everything”, the post said.
Many ruling party leaders shared the post on their personal Facebook post, helping it to reach critical mass and go viral. The PM's candid photos showing her engaged in more mundane activities such as cooking biryani for her son or taking a rickshaw ride in Tungipara have always enjoyed wide appeal among the public.
The ability to connect with her fellow citizens through the common touch that comes through in such photos has always enhanced her political stature as the nation's leader.
