One held with 1.48 lakh yaba pills in Chattogram

Police have arrested a man and recovered 1.48 lakh pieces of yaba from a fishing trawler at Old Kalurghat area under Chandgaon thana this morning.

The arrestee was identified as Sohel Uddin, a permanent resident of Satkania upazila.

Ataur Rahman Khandaker, officer-in-charge of Chandgaon police station said that acting on a tip-off, a team of police conducted a drive in the Kalurghat area and recovered the drugs.

The drugs were being imported from Myanmar by a fishing trawler. 

Sohel is a member of a yaba smuggling gang, the OC said, adding that further interrogation is going on and police are continuing their drive.
