The US Ambassador to Bangladesh Earl R Miller visited the Kallayanpur slum on Monday to meet the families and businesses that have been affected by a recent fire in the area.
Miller wrote a tweet on his verified Twitter profile in this regard.
“We’re proud to partner with the Government of Bangladesh, WFP Bangladesh, & BRAC to fight Covid-19 & provide critical food assistance to Bangladesh families,” he wrote while tagging all the agencies’ Twitter accounts.
His tweet ended with the hashtag “AmericaActs”.

Earlier on October 30, a devastating fire broke out in the capital’s Kallayanpur Natun Bazar slum. The fire burned 70 shanties to ashes.
The fire service assumes that the fire might have originated from a gas cylinder blast.
