Secondary students to be promoted through assignment evaluation

Dhaka (Oct 21, 2020): The final examinations in secondary level will not be held this year due to the adverse impact of the coronavirus outbreak.
The students will be promoted to the next classes after evaluation of their assignments, Education Minister Dipu Moni today made the announcement during a virtual press conference.
However, a syllabus has been preparing for 30 working days and the students will have to prepare the assignments within the timeframe based on the syllabus, the education minister said.
The assignments will be given every week and the student will have to submit it on the weekly basis, she said.
The syllabus will be available on the website of the education ministry at the same time, it will be made available to the head of all educational institutes across the country, she said.
The government has recently decided not to take Higher Seconder Certificate and its equivalent examinations due to the coronavirus outbreak.
The government also made it clear that the results HSC examinations will be decided based on the JSC and SSC results.
Earlier, the government has postponed primary education completion and its equivalent examinations and JSC and JDC.
The country’s all educational institutes have remained suspended since the March 17 and the government has recently extended the closure till October 31.
Amid the situation, the educational institutes have been continuing their classes through online.
