Bangladesh is expected to get around 68 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine from Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance under the global arrangement called Covax facility by 2021.
“We will collect the vaccine after submitting a national vaccine deployment plan as par terms and conditions,” Shamsul Haque Mridha said on Wednesday.
While addressing programme at the health directorate, Mridha said that the cost of each shot of vaccine has been estimated at US $1.62 to $2.
On July 9, 2020 Bangladesh sent an official Expression of Interest to Gavi and in response, Gavi on September 18 sent a letter to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina saying that Bangladesh is eligible to get the vaccine.
