US Ambassador to Bangladesh Earl Miller has said promoting the freedom of religious belief is an important part of US engagement in Bangladesh.
“Promoting the right of every individual’s freedom of belief, or non-belief, is an important part of our engagement in Bangladesh,” said Miller, while speaking at a virtual event, attended by faith and civil society leaders, on Tuesday.
The event was organised to discuss freedom of religious belief in Bangladesh during the Covid-19 pandemic and to explore cooperative efforts to protect religious minorities, reads a post on the verified Facebook page of the US Embassy Dhaka.
The United States is committed to promoting and protecting religious freedom around the world, Miller also told the event.
