Bangladesh records 37 Covid-19 deaths

Bangladesh recorded a total of 37 novel coronavirus deaths and 2,292 fresh cases in the last 24 hours until Thursday morning.
“Thirty-seven more Covid-19 patients died in the last 24 hours, increasing the death toll from the pandemic to 6, 524,” a release of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said today.
Besides with the 2,292 fresh cases, the tally of infection rose to 4, 56,438, the DGHS said in the press release.
The recovery count rose to 3, 71, 453 after another 2, 274 patients were discharged from the different hospitals during the period.
A total of 17, 052 samples were tested at 118 authorised laboratories across the country.
Of the total sample tests in the past 24 hours, 13.44 percent tested positive while 16.82 percent cases were detected from the total tests conducted so far, the release added.
Among the total infection 81.38 percent patients have recovered while 1.43 percent patients died so far since the Covid-19 positive cases were reported in the country on March 8.
