Chattogram (Nov 26, 2020): The law enforcers claimed have detained two persons with fake currencies from different parts of the port city on Thursday.

The detainees are identified as Joynal Abedin, 34, of Barguna and M Jahan Hossain, 28, of Cumilla, said Md Mohsin, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station.

Based on information that some members of an organised gang are engaged in cheating people with fake currencies, police carried out raids at different parts of the city and detained them, the OC said.

Fake currencies worth Tk 70 thousand was also recovered from their possessions, according to the police official.
