Govt to shut 6 sugar mills

The government will be shutting down six sugar mills soon in order to reduce losses. Bangladesh Sugar and Food Industries Corporation (BSFIC) recently announced to close operations of the mills until further notice.
The mills are - Pabna Sugar, Shyampur Sugar, Panchagar Sugar, Setabganj Sugar, Rangpur Sugar and Kushtia Sugar.
Meanwhile, the announcement has already sparked outrage among the workers of those mills. Workers of Pabna Sugar mills staged a sit down on Pabna-Rajshahi highway on Thursday.
