1tonne gold enters country in a month!

Bangladeshi expatriates brought around record one tonne of gold worth Tk550 crore through the Shah Amanat International Airport in Chattagram under baggage rules in last November, according to customs office of the airport.
Though the more amount of gold against the actual demand is entering the country, no one knows the destination of the gold, said jewellers.
As per baggage rule, a passenger can legally bring a maximum of 20 bhories of gold by paying customs duty of Tk2,000 per bhori (1 bhori = 11.664 grams).
