CMP Counter Terrorism Unit arrests a couple under DSA

Chattograme (Dec 5, 2020): The Counter Terrorism Unit of Chattograme Metropolitan Police (CMP) has detained a couple from Sylhet’s Habiganj area in connection with a case lodged under Digital Security Act.

The arrestees are Asaduzzaman Palash, 21, and his wife Sadia Sarkar, 21, said M Hamidul Alam, deputy police commissioner of CMP’s Counter Terrorism Unit.

While addressing a press conference, Alam said following the case filed with Halishahe Thana Station, the law enforces carried out a raid in Habiganj area and detained the couple with the help of local police last night.

Police also recovered two mobile phone sets, six fake registered SIMs from their possessions, the police official said at the press conference.
