Covid-19: 31 die, 1,666 infected in 24hrs in Bangladesh

Dhaka (Dec 6, 2020): Bangladesh recorded 31 deaths and 1,666 infection cases from novel coronavirus across the country including capital Dhaka in the last 24 hours ending 8:00am on Sunday.
The total death, with the latest figure, rose to 6,838, while the number of infection including the fresh cases reached 4, 77,545, Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said in a press statement this afternoon.
In the same time, around 2,552 patients were released from different hospitals after their recoveries of the Covid-19. And, so far around 3, 95, 960 patients have recovered from the disease, according to the press release.
A total of 13, 218 samples were tested at different government authorised laboratories across the country. The government has so far tested a total of 28, 63, 169 samples of coronavirus.
The infection rate in the last 24 hours rose to 12.60 percent while the total rate reached 16.68 percent.
Besides, the recovery rate stands at 82.92 percent while the death rate at 1.43 percent, the DGHS said in the press release.
In Bangladesh, the first coronavirus case was detected on March 8 and the first death case was recorded just after 10 days of the same month.
