Dhaka (Dec 8, 2020): Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Tuesday blasted the people involved in vandalising sculpture of Bangabandhu and said his government won’t allow emergence of any communal group in the country.

The ongoing debate over sculpture of Bangabandhu is a challenger of the communal forces to the country’s achievement and War of Liberation, Quader also read transport and bridges minister said.

“We will find out the instigators and patrons behind the sculpture vandalism,” the AL leader said adding that conspiracy over the family of Bangabandhu and the War of Liberation had been hatched and it is still being done.

While talking to newsmen at his secretariat office in Dhaka this noon, he said that the defamation of Bangabandhu in the name of opposing mural will be dealt with a strong hand.

The AL leader said the government is checking whether there is any local or foreign level conspiracy behind the sculpture issue.

Claiming that the pro-liberation forces are united, he said his government along with the people will resist all evil attempt comes from any quarter for the interest of the country’s stability, peace and prosperity.

He also called upon all concerned not to set up any mural of Bangabandhu without approval of the Bangabandhu Trust.
