Chattogram port reclaims 2 acres illegally occupied land

The Chattogram port has reclaimed 2 acres of land which was occupied by illegal shops and makeshift homes at the Boropol area under the Bandar thana.
With the lead of Gowtam Badoi, authorized officer and executive magistrate of the port, the drive was jointly conducted by Assistant Estate Manager M Shihab Uddin, concerned port officials, 40 Ansar members and port workers.
A mobile court also reclaimed 150 acres of khaas land occupied by three brick fields at the Kattali circle and CDA link road in the port city.
M Umar Faruk, executive magistrate of Chattogram district administration led the drive this afternoon and evicted all the brickfields and recovered the lands.
With the help of the Environment Department of Chattogram Circle, the magistrate drew the line marking government land.
