Bangladesh reports 1,884 new Covid-19 cases, 19 deaths

Covid-19 Update

Bangladesh reported 1,884 new Covid-19 cases and 19 deaths from the virus on Friday.

With this, the number of positive cases rose to 487,849 and the number of deaths reached 6,986, said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The fatality rate from Covid-19 in Bangladesh has remained 1.43 percent.

DGHS further said that 1,866 patients have recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours. The total number of recovered patients so far is 414,318 – which is 84.93 percent of the total infected.

According to the Worldometer data, 70,817,625 cases of coronavirus have been detected worldwide. The number of deaths reached 1,590,689 and 49,244,216 recovered from the virus.

The website further projects that there are currently 19,982,720 active cases of Covid-19 across the globe. 99.5 percent of the patients are in mild condition, while only half a percent is in critical condition.

The US is the country with most numbers of Covid-19 positive cases, followed by India, Brazil, Russia, France and the UK.
