Bangladesh reported 27 new deaths and 1,632 positive cases of Covid-19 on Wednesday.
With this, the number of positive cases rose to 495,841 and the number of deaths reached 7,156, said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The fatality rate from Covid-19 in Bangladesh currently stands at 1.44 percent.
DGHS further said that 2,622 patients have recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours. The total number of recovered patients so far is 423,845 – which is 86.09 percent of the total infected.
According to the Worldometer data, 73,902,268 cases of coronavirus have been detected worldwide. The number of deaths reached 1,644,078 and 51,900,051 recovered from the virus.
The website further projects that there are currently 20,358,139 active cases of Covid-19 across the globe. 99.5 percent of the patients are in mild condition, while only half a percent is in critical condition.
The US is the country with most numbers of Covid-19 positive cases, followed by India, Brazil, Russia, France and Turkey.
