RAB arrests 5 suspected robbers

The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) members have arrested five suspected robbers at Ashulia for robbing three markets in Gabtoli, of Bogura district recently.

RAB released the information through a press conference at its media office at Karwan Bazar in the capital on Monday.

The arrestees are: gang leader Md Delwar Hossain (35), Jewel (26), Ali Hossain (58), Md. Sumon Munshi (20), Md. Humayun Kabir (35).

RAB also has recovered one foreign-made pistol, one magazine, four rounds of live ammunition, one bolt cutter, two large sharp weapons, three shovels, two knives, one scissors, 10 sticks, one hammer and one torch light and a truck from under their possession.  

According to RAB, on the night of November 6, they robbed three markets in Durgahata of Bogura district. The markets are - Munshi Supermarket, Pukur Par Market and Masjid Market.

Tying up the security guards, and covering their faces with cloth they robbed nine shops of the markets. They looted gold jewellery, electronics, clothes, mobiles, other goods and cash worth over Tk 20 lakh.

Rab conducted shadow investigation in the case and continued intelligence surveillance in arresting this organised robber group.According to the Rab, this gang is regularly involved in other criminal activities in Bogura, Sirajganj and adjacent districts of Dhaka division.
