3 held in Ctg with 1.46 lakh yaba

Chittagong Range Police have arrested three people and seized 1.46 lakh pieces of contraband yaba from them, along with two motorcycles and five mobile sets from the Anwara upazila early this morning.

The arrestees were identified as Mahamudul Haq, 23, M Ibrahim, 26, and Jahed Hosain, 25.

SM Rashidul Haq, Police Superintendent of Chattogram made the disclosure at a press conference held this afternoon.

He also said that acting on a tip-off, a team of Anwara police collaborated with Patiya police to conduct a drive in the checkpost areas of the upazilas and recovered the yaba, motorcycles and mobile phones.

In primary interrogation, the gang confessed that they were carrying the yaba and had a deal to get Tk3 lakh after selling it.

Among others, Additional Police Superintendent (Admin) Moshiullah Reza, Additional SP (DSB) Mohiuddin Mahmud Sohel, Additional SP (Patiya Circle) Tariq Rahman and Officer-in-Charge of Anwara police station SM Didarul Islam Shikder, were also present at the press conference.
