Bangladesh reported 20 deaths from Covid-19 and 1,163 fresh Covid-19 cases on Friday.
With this, the number of positive cases rose to 507,265 and the number of deaths reached 7,398, said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The fatality rate from Covid-19 in Bangladesh currently stands at 1.46 percent.
DGHS further said that 2,113 patients have recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours. The total number of recovered patients so far is 448,803 – which is 88.47 percent of the total infected.
According to the Worldometer data, 79,819,547 cases of coronavirus have been detected worldwide. The number of deaths reached 1,751,187 and 56,205,249 recovered from the virus.
The website further projects that there are currently 21,863,111 active cases of Covid-19 across the globe. 99.5 percent of the patients are in mild condition, while only half a percent is in critical condition.
The US is the country with most numbers of Covid-19 positive cases, followed by India, Brazil, Russia, France and the UK.
