‘Bangabandhu dedicated his life to ensure social justice’

Bangabandhu sacrificed his life for removing disparity and ensuring justice in the society, eminent economist Dr Qazi Kholiquzzaman Ahmad said on Saturday.
He made the remark as the chief guest while addressing an e-seminar on ‘Bangabandhu and Bangladesh’, organised by the Entrepreneurial Economists Club of the Dhaka School of Economics (DScE), marking the 100th birth anniversary of father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The six-point demand and Bangabandhu's historic March 7 speech have a special place in the history of Bangladesh, Dr Kholiquzzaman, chairman of the Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF), told the seminar, reads a press release.
Bangabandhu selflessly worked for the economic development of the country as well as removing disparity in the society, said speakers on the virtual seminar, presided over by Prof Dr Muhammad Mahboob Ali, programme coordinator of entrepreneurship at DScE.
Mahboob Ali said Mujib was a man of accomplishments – he fought for the economic freedom of his countrymen.
Prof Arup Choudhuri from India; Prof Dr M Lutfar Rahman, first vice chancellor of Rangpur University; Prof Hafiz TA Khan of the University of West London, UK; Rehana Parvin and Sara Tasneem, assistant professors of DScE; and Entrepreneurial Economists Club president Umman Nahar Azmee, also spoke at the seminar.
