PM inducts Dash 8-400 aircraft in Biman’s fleet

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Sunday formally inducted the Canadian 74-seated brand new first aircraft named Dhrubatara, the latest addition to the fleet of Biman Bangladesh Airlines.
prime minister inaugurated the journey of the new aircraft through a videoconferencing from her official residence Gono Bhaban this noon to help it expand operation in short range including domestic and South Asian destinations.
The inaugural event was held at the VVIP terminal of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka around 11:00am.
Among the three Dash 8-400 aircrafts purchased on a G2G basis between the Bangladesh and Canada, the first one is the ‘Dhrubatara’.
Manufactured by the renowned Canadian aircraft maker de Havilland, the 74-seater Dash 8-400, the aircraft is environmentally friendly and has cutting edge facilities.
With the addition of the new aircraft, the total number of existing aircraft in the fleet is 19, including 4 Boeing 777-300ER, 4 Boeing 787-8, 2 Boeing 787-9, 6 Boeing 737 and 3 Dash 8-400 aircraft.
