Next SSC exams in June, HSC in July-August: Dipu Moni

The Secondary School Certificate (SSC), Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and other equivalent examinations of 2021 will be held in June and July or August, Education Minister Dipu Moni said on Tuesday.

“We will hold the examinations according to the schedule if the prevailing situation returns to normalcy,” Dipu Moni came up with the announcement while addressing a virtual press conference this noon.

The minister said all educational activities have been called off from March 16 last year following the outbreak of coronavirus in the country on March 8.

And thus, it was not possible to complete the syllabus of SSC and its equivalent examinations for 2021 academic year, she said.

“Work on customising the syllabus is going on. The syllabus is being shortened considering the requirements needed for students to upgrade into the next level. We will be able to inform our students in this regard by January 15,” she said.

Within the timeframe, Dipu Moni said the authority will undertake initiatives to take classes of the SSC examinees at their respective educations institutions from February to April and will try to reopen all educational institutions across the country considering the situation.
