Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Wednesday said that no one can break BNP’s record of vote robbery in the history of Bangladesh.
Quader, also road transport and bridges minister, came up with the remarks while addressing a programme at Krishibid Institution Bangladesh auditorium in Dhaka marking the Victory Day of Democracy today.
Dhaka North City Unite of Awami League arranged the meeting where Quader took part in the programme virtually from his official residence on parliament complex premise this noon.
Earlier, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir alleged that if votes are cast through electronic voting machine, all the ballots go to the boxes of boat, electoral symbol of Awami League.
“If it was happened, did their two mayors win the first phase of municipality elections because the votes of boat went to the boxes of paddy sheaf, electoral symbol of BNP?” Quader questioned.
“It is an absurd allegation,” Quader said and warned that his government will be forced go for a tough action to protect people’s properties if BNP creates anarchy on the streets in the name of movement.
Awami League Presidium Member Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Joint General Secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim and a number of senior leaders of the party spoke at the programme with AL’s Dhaka City North unit president Sheikh Bazlur Rahman in the chair.
