Ex-major Sinha murder case verdict on Jan 31

The verdict of the much-discussed murder case of ex-army major Sinha Mohammad Rashed Khan will be delivered on January 31 this year.

District and Sessions Judge Mohammad Ismail of Cox's Bazar court has set the date after completing the hearing in the case on Wednesday.

Public prosecutor advocate Faridul Alam informed the matter to the media.

July 31 in last year, former army major Sinha (Retd) was shot dead by police at Shamlapur check post in Teknaf.

Later, a murder case was filed by his sister with the Cox's Bazar Senior Judicial Magistrate's Court. She accused nine people in the case.

The accused in the case include suspended inspector of Baharchhara police outpost Liakat Ali, officer-in-charge of Teknaf police station Pradeep Kumar Das, Rubel Sharma, bodyguard, Teknaf Police Station sub-inspector Nandadulal Rakshit, assistant sub-inspector Liton Mia, constables Safanur Karim, Kamal Hossain, among others.
