Splash of winter rain shivers city dwellers

The capital Dhaka experienced a sudden burst of rainfall on Wednesday evening coupled with temporary gusty wind under the influence of the seasonal low lies over the South Bay, extending its trough to North Bay.

The sudden winter rain caused much suffering to the commuters who were unprepared for a rainy evening.

The city received a total of 4mm rainfall in the last 24 hours till 6pm on Wednesday, according to the Dhaka met office.

Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at a few places over Dhaka, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Khulna, Barishal and Mymensingh divisions, met office said.

The weather may remain mainly dry with a partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country.

Moderate to thick fog may occur at places over the river basins and adjoining areas and light to moderate fog may occur at places elsewhere over the country during midnight to morning.

Night temperature may remain nearly unchanged and day temperature may fall slightly over the country.
