Holy Cross student collapses during assembly, dies

A student of class nine collapsed during assembly at Holy Cross Girls High School in the morning and died after a short while.
The incident took place on the premises of Holy Cross Girls School and College around 7 am at Farmgate, in the capital.
The deceased is Susanna Mallick.
Tejgaon Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Apurba Hasan confirmed the matter.
The OC said that the girl lost consciousness and fell during the assembly. She was later rushed to a nearby St. John’s Vienna Hospital where doctors declared her dead.
“The girl’s family said she had been ill for the past three years,” the OC added.
However, Susanna’s family and school authorities could not be reached for further comments.
