Fishing in Kaptai Lake banned for 3 months

Rangamati district administration imposed a three months ban on netting, marketing and transportation of fishes from Kaptai Lake to help breeding.

The decision was taken in a meeting held at the Deputy Commissioner's office on Thursday to help breeding and rejuvenate fish stocks in the freshwater lake, reports BSS.

Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Mizanur Rahman, Additional Deputy Commissioner SM Ferdous Islam, district BADC Commander Tohidul Alam and district Fisheries Officer Sribas Chandra Das, among others, were present.
