The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Tuesday strongly protested at the report published in Quarter-based news channel Al Jazeera saying that a certain quarter did this with a motive to halt the development of Bangladesh.
“The report has been published with an evil attempt to hinder the country’s development. A certain quarter who was engaged in hatching conspiracy to destabilise the country are behind the plot,” the ISPR said it in a press statement Tuesday evening.
In the statement, the ISPR criticised Al Jazeera for its report using mobile technology “brought from Israel for spying” and termed it as blatant lie.
The technology has been brought from Hungary for a peacekeeping mission of United Nations, the ISPR said.
Earlier in the day, foreign minister officially protested at the report terming it as untrue and politically motivated.
An extremist group linked to Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami is active behind the plot, it said.
