Number of SSC examinees goes down by over 2 lakh this year

The number of Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinees went down by over two lakh this year, said Education Minister Dipu Moni.

The minister was addressing a press conference at the secretariat on Sunday morning.

This year, the number of SSC examinees is 2,021,868, while it was 2,243,254 in the year previous, she said.

Regarding the reduced number of SSC examinees, Dipu Moni said there are nearly 2.5 lakh irregular examinees every year.

“But this year, the number of irregular students is less than the previous years as the pass rate was higher in 2021,” said the education minister.

The SSC and equivalent examinations will begin on June 19, the minister said.
