Rain likely to continue for 3 more days

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Friday predicted that the ongoing light to moderate rain will continue for three more days across the country.

“The ongoing rain is likely to continue for three more days across the country as monsoon is active over Bangladesh,” Shahinul Haque, a meteorologist at the BMD told the Business Insider Bangladesh this afternoon.

Meanwhile, the meteorological department predicted light to moderate rain or thunder showers in parts of the country in 24 hours commencing 9:00am on Friday.

Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Rajshahi, Rangpur, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Sylhet and Chattogram divisions.

Besides, a moderately heavy to very heavy falls and at many places over Khulna and Barishal divisions may occur during the same period, according to the met office bulletin.

The day temperature may fall by 1-3°C and night temperature may fall by 1-2°C over the country, the weather report said.

A trough of low extended from Bihar to West Bengal persists while monsoon is active over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay, said the met office bulletin.

The highest rainfall from 6:00am to 12:00pm on Friday was recorded 131 mm at Netrokona division.
