Covid-19 in Bangladesh: Death toll crosses 6000; 21 more die

Dhaka (Nov 4, 2020): The number of deaths from Covid-19 in Bangladesh rose to 6,004 on Wednesday with the death of 21 more people in 24 hours.
Besides, health authorities registered 1517 new coronavirus cases during the period, pushing the caseload to 4,14,164.
So far, 331,197 patients have recovered from the disease-- 1910 in the last 24 hours.
The fatality rate in Bangladesh is 1.45 percent, the Directorate General of Health Services said.
Bangladesh reported its first cases on March 8. The number of cases reached the 300,000-mark on August 26. The first death was reported on March 18 and the death toll exceeded 5,000 on Sept 22.
So far, 2,389,677 tests have been carried out, including 13,914 new tests, and 17.33 percent of them have turned out to be positive.
Bangladesh is seeing 2431.87 infections, 1947.65 recoveries and 35.25 deaths per million.
Global Situation
The death toll from Covid-19 in the world reached 1,215, 173 while the total caseload surpassed 47,491,193 as of Wednesday morning, according to the latest tally from Johns Hopkins University.
The U.S. has registered 232,634 deaths with 9,385,143 infections – both the highest in the world.
Brazil has recorded 5,566,049 cases with 160,496 deaths.
India has the world's third largest death toll at 123,611and the second largest caseload with 8,313,876 cases.
The global COVID-19 death toll reached the grim milestone of 1 million on September 28.
