Rail communications with Sylhet restored

Railway communications with Sylhet have been restored as the floodwater receded from the city’s railway station.

The operation of trains resumed from Sunday noon, Sylhet Railway Station Manager Md Nurul Islam confirmed the matter to media.

He said, “Train communications were suspended on Saturday as the flood water submerged the station. Now, the floodwater is receding and the train communications from Sylhet with the rest of the country have been restored.”  

Sylhet is witnessing the worst flood in recent times. The Bangladesh Navy and Army are trying to rescue the flood affected people.
