Swechasebak League president Nirmal Ranjan Guha dies

Nirmal Ranjan Guha, president of Awami Swechasebak League, an associate body and voluntary wing of Bangladesh Awami League, has died while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Singapore.
He breathed his last at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore on Wednesday at the age of 58, the party source confirmed.
Guha was first admitted to the Specialised Hospital at Shyamoly of Dhaka when his condition deteriorated on June 12.
During the treatment at the hospital, he had been diagnosed with two blockages in his blood vessel and later a stent had also been placed in his artery.
As his condition deteriorated severely, he was taken to Singapore by an air ambulance on June 16 for advanced treatment.
On receipt of the information, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, also president of the ruling Awami League and party’s General Secretary Obaidul Quader expressed their deep shock and extended sympathy to the bereaved family members.
They also sought eternal peace of the departed soul.
