Finish Bangabandhu tunnel project soon: Quader

Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has instructed the authorities concerned to complete the works of the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Tunnel, which is being constructed beneath the Karnaphuli River in Chattogram, immediately.

Quader gave the instruction at a view-exchange meeting with officials of the Bridge Division and Bangladesh Bridge Authority at Setu Bhaban in Dhaka on Wednesday.

Quader, also general secretary of the ruling Awami League, informed that about 87 percent work of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Tunnel has already been completed.

The minister also asked the Bridge Division to complete its other ongoing projects without any delay.

Chaired by Bridge Division Secretary Md Monjur Hossain, the meeting was attended by senior officials of the Bridge Division and Bangladesh Bridge Authority.
