Govt wants to remove limits of admission seekers’ age, time: Dipu Moni

The government wants to remove age and time limits for students at different levels in education including admission, Education Minister Dipu Moni said on Wednesday.

At present, it is allowed to sit for the admission test only once in various universities. Sometimes, there is a double chance, said the education minister.

“We want to eliminate the age and time limits,” she said while addressing a programme at the International Mother’s Language Institute in Segunbagiha area of Dhaka.

Citing a number of logic in favour of her willingness, Dipu Moni said that access to any education should be unrestricted.

“We have to do a lot over the admission test. When the entire world is talking about lifelong education, hindrance is being created in the name of age and time limits here,” she said.

the need for improving the standard of education, the minister said there is no alternative but to improve the quality of education in our country as it will have to match the international standard.
