Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (RAJUK) Chairman Anisur Rahman Miah has said that a decision on amending the law of issuing Occupancy Certificates will be taken after discussions with multiple stakeholders.
RAJUK chairman stated this at a meeting with REHAB (Real Estate & Housing Association of Bangladesh) President Alamgir Shamsul Alamin on August 22.
He also stated that those who didn't maintain the proper codes of design by adding more floors to buildings and renting parking areas for other purposes will not be spared.
During the meeting, the REHAB president suggested that structures already constructed with minor deviations from their approved designs should be legalised by allowing owners to pay fines.
He also stated that the implementation of rules on construction wasn't strict enough. However, the law is now so strict that obtaining an occupancy certificate has become almost impossible.
Among others, REHAB Senior Vice President Enthekhabul Hamid, First Vice President Kamal Mahmud, Vice President (Finance) Engr Mohd Shohel Rana and other high officials of RAJUK were present at the meeting.
At the meeting, the RAJUK chairman assured the REHAB president of retaining the current law on power of attorney.
