HC stays Tk 2.15 lakh fine against Shohoz

The High Court has stayed the fine of Tk 2.15 lakh imposed on Shohoz.com by the Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection (DNCRP) for selling the same train ticket to two customers.

The HC also asked why should the order issued by the DNCRP not be declared invalid, said a press release.

On July 29, the plaintiff, Bishwajit Saha, bought a train ticket from Shohoz.com.

However, on the day of his trip, Saha found that the seat he had booked was sold to another passenger. He later filed a complaint with the DNCRP.

Later, on August 23, DNCRP ordered Shohoz to pay Tk 2.15 lakh fine as the matter has been proved.

Against the verdict, Shohoz filed a writ petition with the HC on August 31.
