AL suspends Pankaj Debnath from party post

Awami League has suspended Pankaj Debnath, a lawmaker of Barishal-4 (Hizla-Mehendiganj) parliamentary constituency, from the party's rank and file on a charge of violating the organizational discipline.

A letter signed by AL Office Secretary Biplop Barua was issued on Monday. A copy of the letter was forwarded to Barishal unit AL President Abul Hasnat Abdullah and General Secretary Talukder Md Yunus this afternoon.

The Central Working Committee of Awami League removed him as part of the party constitution, said the letter.

As per the party constitution, AL Central Working Committee has removed you from all posts including the advisory post of Barishal district unit AL, for violating the party rules and regulations. You are requested to submit your written explanation of the above-mentioned issue to the central AL office by the next 15 days, read the letter.
