67 dengue patients hospitalised in last 24hrs

A total of 67 patients were hospitalised with mosquito-borne dengue fever across the country in the last 24 hours till Wednesday morning, according to the health department.

The death toll from the disease remained static at 281 as no casualty caused by the virus was reported elsewhere in the country during the same period, according to a handout of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Of the new patients, 36 were admitted to different hospitals in Dhaka and 31 outside it, said the DGHS.

Some 360 dengue patients are now undergoing treatment at different hospitals across the country and of them, 186 are being treated in the capital Dhaka and 174 are now receiving treatment outside it.

The DGHS recorded a total of 62,256 dengue cases in the country this year and of them, 39,170 in Dhaka and 22,804 outside it.

Meanwhile, some 61,615 patients recovered from the disease, and of them, 38,811 were in Dhaka and 22,804 were outside of it, according to the DGHS.
