Govt reappoints Khurshid Alam as DG of DGHS

The government has reappointed ABM Khurshid Alam as the director general of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) for the next two years.

Khurshid Alam has been appointed on a contract basis, said a notification of the Ministry of Public Administration on Tuesday

The post of the director general of the DGHS remained vacant since the tenure of Khurshid Alam expired last year.

Meanwhile, the government on Monday appointed Ahmedul Kabir as the acting director general of the DGHS.

Alam took charge as the DG of the DGHS on July 26, 2020. His tenure ended on December 31 of the same year and his term was later extended till December 31, 2022.
