The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations for the 2023 academic year will begin on April 30.
Professor Tapan Kumar Sarkar, chairman of Dhaka Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board, revealed the schedule on Monday.
The concerned authorities have sent a proposal of the examination schedule to the education ministry for its approval and the ministry has given its consent, he told the media.
Last year, Education Minister Dipu Moni said SSC and HSC exams in 2023 will be held in April and June, respectively, based on the shortened syllabus, just like the previous academic session.
The SSC examinations for the 2022 academic year began on September 15 considering the worsening flood situation in the country.
According to the government’s academic calendar, the SSC examinations begin on February 1 and the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) from April 1 every year.
However, these examinations were not held according to the schedule in the past two years due to an outbreak of coronavirus in the country.
