Bank Asia founder A Rouf Chowdhury no more

A Rouf Chowdhury, founder and former chairman of Bank Asia, died of old-age complications at his residence in Dhaka on Saturday. He was 85.

The eminent entrepreneur breathed his last around 12:30 pm at his Gulshan residence, according to his family.

He left behind his son Romo Rouf Chowdhury and two daughters Romana Rouf Chowdhury and Sohana Rouf Chowdhury and a host of relatives.

His first namaz-e-janaza will be held at Gulshan Azad Mosque in the city after Asar prayers, said a press release.

The second namaz-e-janaza of the deceased will be held at his ancestral home in Malkhanagar of Munshiganj after Esha prayers.
