Terming the politics as a motto, Awami League Joint General Secretary and Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud on Wednesday said none should be allowed to buy politics in exchange for money.

“Politics is a motto and the leaders should come in leadership who have dedication and sacrificing mentality for the party. Therefore, none should be allowed to buy politics in exchange for money,” he told the triennial conference of Awami League Kalai upazila unit of Jaypurhat held on the Kalai Government Women Degree College ground, reports BSS.

About Union Parishad (UP) polls, Hasan said BNP has no confidence on the masses. That is why, they have already declared that it (BNP) would not take part in the Union Parishad polls, he added.

The minister said once Begum Khaleda Zia told that the Awami League could not construct the Padma Bridge, but reality is that construction works of the bridge is nearing completion.

The country, he said, has reached new heights under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The premier has introduced a number of social safety net programmes including widow, maternity and old age allowances, he added.

Hasan said the country is now a role model before the globe under the dynamic leadership of Bangabandhu’s worthy daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
